What decorative artificial grass is
Decorative artificial grass is a short (8–15 mm), lighter synthetic grass carpet designed for visual effect and easy handling rather than for heavy sports use or a deep lawn feel. Because the pile is short and the carpet is relatively light (6,000–8,000 Dtex), it can be cut with a utility knife, laid loose or taped, rolled up after use and stored. That makes it a practical surface for temporary installations and for areas where a full landscaping turf would be excessive.
For retailers, it is often a fast-moving product sold by the metre. For event companies and stand builders, it is a reusable flooring material. It complements the denser products in our artificial grass carpet range.
Where decorative grass is used
- Terraces and balconies – a clean green surface over tiles or concrete, often combined with a balcony grass fence for privacy. See our balcony privacy screen application.
- Events and weddings – walkways, lounge areas, photo corners and outdoor receptions.
- Exhibition stands – floor covering that is quick to install and remove between trade fairs.
- Shop displays and window dressing – seasonal displays, garden centre stands and product presentations.
- Interiors – offices, cafés, children’s areas and wall applications.
Hotels, restaurants and fit-out contractors often order it as part of larger commercial projects.
Choosing decorative artificial grass
Even for decoration, a few specifications make a difference:
- Pile height – 8–10 mm looks tidy and is easy to clean; 12–15 mm looks more lawn-like. The pile height guide compares typical ranges.
- Density – 6,000–8,000 Dtex with 240–320 stitches/m and 3/8 inch gauge gives a full, tidy short-pile look.
- Backing – a perforated backing drains on outdoor terraces; for indoor use, flatness and grip matter more.
- Colour – natural greens are standard; blue, red, yellow, white and black are used for branding and themed events.
- Fire and UV – for public indoor venues ask for our fire-retardant treatment with test reports; for outdoor use choose UV-stabilised yarn.
Made in Turkey, shipped with your mixed range
CEYTO YAPI is a Turkish company based at İSTOÇ in Istanbul, active since 2002. Buyers in Türkiye’s neighbouring regions and beyond can add decorative grass to containers of garden turf or grass fence, which is useful for distributors who stock several product lines but do not need a full container of each.
