What shade net is
Shade net is a flat-woven or knitted mesh made from UV-stabilised HDPE tape and monofilament yarn. It reduces the amount of solar radiation reaching the area below it, which lowers temperature, slows water evaporation and protects plants, people and materials from direct UV exposure. The shade rate — expressed as a percentage — indicates how much sunlight the net blocks: a 70% shade net lets roughly 30% of light through.
It is widely used in hot, dry climates where sunlight intensity is high for most of the year. North Africa and the Gulf are natural markets because shade net extends the growing season for vegetables, improves comfort on patios and restaurant terraces, and protects construction materials and workers on site.
How buyers specify shade net
When you request a quotation, these are the variables that define the product:
- Shade rate – 40–95%. The right rate depends on the crop, the use and the local sun intensity.
- Width – 2 m to 6 m. Wider rolls mean fewer seams and faster installation; narrower rolls are easier to handle on balconies and small structures.
- Weight (GSM) – 80 to 260 g/m². Higher GSM means tighter weave and longer life, but also higher cost.
- Colour – green is most common for gardens and nurseries; black is used for general screening; beige and white reflect more light and are preferred in hot-climate agricultural and livestock applications.
- Roll length – 50 m or 100 m standard, custom lengths available.
Where it is used
Typical applications include vegetable and flower greenhouses, nursery shading, garden and patio canopies, carport shading, livestock and poultry housing, construction site screening, warehouse dust control, and windbreak fencing. Many buyers combine shade net with grass fence rolls to create a privacy and sun-protection barrier on balconies and garden boundaries.
Made in Turkey for export markets
CEYTO YAPI has worked in outdoor mesh and synthetic grass products in Türkiye since 2002. Producing in Turkey lets buyers in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia source from a supplier with direct sea access through Istanbul’s ports. You can combine shade net with garden artificial grass and grass fence in one shipment, which helps importers fill a container with a mixed range.
