How a semi-automatic grass fence machine works
Artificial grass fence is generally produced by attaching UV-stabilised polyethylene grass yarn to a galvanised wire structure to create a dense, green privacy screen. On a semi-automatic grass fence machine, the mechanical forming steps are powered by a 2.2–3.0 kW motor with PLC control, while the operator takes care of tasks such as loading wire and yarn, positioning material, starting cycles and removing finished sections.
This split of work keeps the machine simpler than a fully automatic line. For a new producer, that usually means a more manageable investment, easier day-to-day maintenance and a shorter learning curve for staff. The trade-off is that output and consistency depend more on operator skill and routine, so training and clear working procedures matter.
Who typically chooses this machine
- Entrepreneurs entering grass fence production for the first time
- Fence installers who want to make their own product for villa garden fencing and balcony privacy screen jobs
- Building material shops serving a regional market
- Producers who need a second, flexible machine for short runs or special widths
If you already have steady orders from distributors or large contractors, compare it with the automatic grass fence machine, which reduces manual handling for longer runs.

Planning a small production setup
A semi-automatic machine works best in a tidy, well-organised workshop. Keep wire coils and yarn close to the loading side, leave space for finished fence to be laid out and checked, and plan where rolls will be stored before dispatch. Adding a grass fence roll winding machine makes rolls tighter and more uniform, which helps when selling to shops and distributors.
