How to choose artificial grass carpet for your market
Before requesting a quote, decide what the surface must do. The same synthetic turf rarely suits a family lawn, a five-a-side pitch and a trade-fair stand. Our three product groups cover these uses:
- Garden artificial grass for residential lawns, rooftop gardens and public green areas.
- Football artificial turf for pitches, training areas and multi-sport courts.
- Decorative artificial grass for terraces, balconies, events and retail displays.
For larger planting and lawn projects, see our notes on artificial grass landscaping.
Key specifications explained
Pile height. The length of the yarn above the backing. Short piles are easy to clean and suit decor; medium piles give a natural lawn look; longer piles are used on sports surfaces where infill supports the fibres. Our artificial grass pile height guide covers this in more detail. Our options: [TODO: pile heights].
Dtex, stitch rate and density. Dtex describes the weight of the yarn (grams per 10,000 metres), so a higher Dtex generally means a thicker, more durable fibre. Stitch rate is the number of stitches per metre of length, and gauge is the distance between tuft rows. Together they determine density: how many tufts sit in each square metre, which affects softness, appearance and wear.
Yarn type. Artificial turf is commonly made from polyethylene (soft, natural look) or polypropylene (stiffer, often used for short-pile or curled thatch), sometimes combined. Fibre shape influences resilience and how the grass recovers after foot traffic. Our yarns: [TODO: yarn materials].
Backing and drainage. Tufted yarn is locked into a primary backing with a coating, typically latex or polyurethane. Drainage holes let rainwater pass through; their spacing matters for outdoor installations. Our backing: [TODO: backing type].
Infill (sports). Football turf usually takes sand for stability and rubber or alternative granules for shock absorption. Infill type and quantity are specified with the pitch design, not the carpet alone.
Roll width and UV. Common roll widths in the industry are 2 m and 4 m; wider rolls mean fewer seams but heavier handling. Outdoor turf should use UV-stabilised yarn to limit fading. Our values: [TODO: roll widths, UV stabilisation details].
Made in Turkey, exported worldwide
Türkiye gives export buyers practical advantages: sea freight from Istanbul’s Ambarlı port area across the Mediterranean and Black Sea, and road freight to Europe via the Kapıkule border. Artificial grass carpet ships rolled, so container loading depends on roll width, length and pile height. We plan each load with you: [TODO: rolls per 20ft/40ft container].
